Extend Technologies today announced that NTT DATA has completed its acquisition of Extend as part of a strategy to expand its global footprint of specalised SAP consulting businesses.
NTT DATA, a global systems integration and IT solution provider headquartered in Tokyo, has acquired a 51 per cent shareholding in Extend Technologies.
The acquisition follows NTT DATA's August 2008 acquisition of Cirquent, previously an owned subsidiary of BMW, and its January 2008 acquisition of itelligence, an SAP Global Service Partner and SAP Global Hosting Partner. itelligence is one of the most successful SAP partners in the world with operations across Europe and the United States.
Operationally, Extend will continue to function on a business as normal basis with workforce, management structures and branding remaining unchanged. The partnership establishes a presence for NTT DATA in the Oceania region for the first time.
The partnership will provide Extend with access to world class SAP resources, including deep enterprise consulting expertise, extensive SAP knowledge and a global service delivery and support infrastructure. The backing of a top 500 global IT company will mean increased opportunity for Extend to access capital and accelerate growth.
"This partnership is a win for customers, employees, stakeholders and SAP," said Max White, Managing Director, Extend Technologies. "It combines the power of a dominant global ITTC integrator with one of the fastest growing software solutions companies in Australia. Extend has grown rapidly during the last six years providing solutions to high profile brand name companies."
"This partnership will open up new business and growth opportunities for Extend via the existing NTT DATA global network, which reaches into the Asia Pacific region and beyond. It will provide us with access to new resources and expertise, which will benefit our customers and provide our business and our people with exciting opportunities and new challenges. A singular focus on SAP as the strategic enterprise backbone of choice will deliver unparalleled value to our customers."
"Extend has grown rapidly in Australia since its launch in 2003", continued White. "Our success is based on deep relationships with customers, innovative thinking, a supportive working environment, a dynamic management team and a commitment to superior customer service. NTT DATA demonstrated a similar culture and shared values, which was a key driver for the agreement."
"We remain committed to these core principles and will continue to foster the values and relationships that made our business successful, under the NTT DATA brand."
NTT DATA is a top 500 global IT company and is the 12th largest IT service provider in the world, according to Gartner. NTT DATA has about 2,000 SAP consultants worldwide.
Extend will work with the existing NTT DATA organisation in Asia Pacific and Japan and with itelligence in Europe and the US to deliver SAP solutions to regional and multinational customers. Specifically, the partnership will enable Extend to tap into the regional growth opportunity with organisations that are expanding across the Asia Pacific region, a market opportunity which is estimated to be worth US$3bn by 2012.
"Extend Technologies is a highly valued SAP partner," said Tim Ebbeck, President & CEO, SAP Australia New Zealand. "They are the power behind a number of lighthouse SAP customers and they make a significant contribution to the SAP ecosystem in Australia. Through their work in the SAP ecosystem Extend is enabling SAP to fulfill our Strategic Purpose to make the world run better.
"The acquisition of Extend by NTTD will enable many more companies to benefit from Extend's winning culture and innovation across the Asia Pacific region. It will open up a significant regional market opportunity for Extend customers and their people, providing access to global resources and reach."
Uwe Bohnhorst, COO, itelligence AG, said, "Built on a similar business model, itelligence and NTT DATA Business Solutions are market leaders in their respective geographies, Europe and Asia/Pacific. The strategic partnership of both companies under NTT DATA will help Extend fulfil its growth potential by taking advantage of new license and business development opportunities."
Extend Technologies has five key lines of business; SAP licensing and services, HCM, SAP/Microsoft integration, Business Intelligence (including Business Objects), and SAP Support.
Originating in 2003, Extend is a dynamic and innovative company with exceptional vision and growth. Making the BRW Fast 100 in 2008 as well as multiple SAP channel awards every year since inception, Extend Technologies prides itself on good customer relationships and referenceability.
